Basic Green Smoothie
Here to show you how green smoothies don’t have to taste like grass, they can really taste GOOD! This one in particular is full of nutrition (water soluble vitamins in particular), fiber, protein, and healthy fat to keep you satisfied and help keep your blood sugar balanced.
dairy free, gluten free, soy free, sugar free, Whole 30, nut free**
Yield: 1 serving
Ingredients
1 cup of water*
1/2 T hemp seeds
2 very large handfuls of greens or 1.5 cups frozen (spinach, mixed greens, etc)
1/2 cup zucchini (I like to steam then freeze mine, recommend this if you have gut issues but you can also use fresh)
1 T almond butter** for nut free, use 1/4-1/2 a small avocado, fresh or frozen
1 T psyllium husk (or ground flax/chia seeds)
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 serving vanilla protein
sprinkle of sea salt
*you can replace the water/hemp seeds with 1 cup of any unsweetened milk
Directions
If using exact recipe above with water and hemp seeds, add just these first two ingredients to a high powered blender, and blend on high until you have hemp milk. Then add all additional ingredients and blend until smooth
Pour into a glass (or jar for on the go) and enjoy!
