Salted Chocolate Banana Smoothie
If you are a chocolate fein like I am, let me introduce you to a delicious and creamy, chocolate shake that is filled with protein and fiber - essentially the best combination you could want; healthy enough to enjoy as a meal, that helps to balance blood sugar and keep you satisfied, while also honoring your insane love of chocolate!
dairy free, gluten free, soy free, nut free
Yield: 1 serving
Ingredients
1/2 cup + 2 T water
1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
1 tsp hemp hearts
1 T psyllium husk
1 serving chocolate protein powder
1 serving collagen powder
1/2 T carob powder (or cacao)
1/2 cup frozen spinach
1/2 cup frozen cauliflower rice
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
3/4 cup ice
Directions
Add all ingredients except ice, to a blender bottle and blend immediately
Add ice, and blend again
Top with carob nibbles, or your favorite chocolate crunchy topping, and flaky sea salt - enjoy!
if you let the smoothie sit on the counter or in the fridge for more than a few minutes, it will thicken up due to the psyllium. If you choose to enjoy later, you can add additional water before drinking, 1 T at a time, and either blend again, or mix with a spoon to reach the desired consistency
